Aaron Smithis Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis. His research focuses on government policy, prices and trading in agricultural, energy, and financial markets. His research has won the Quality of Communication, Quality of Research Discovery, and Outstanding *American Journal of Agricultural Economics* Article Awards from the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA).J. Edward Tayloris Professor in the Agricultural and Resource Economics Department at the University of California, Davis. He has published more than 130 articles, book chapters, and books on topics ranging from international trade to ecotourism, immigration, and rural poverty. He has won research awards from the AAEA and teaching awards from UC Davis. Ed is listed in"Who's Who in Economics"as one of the world's most cited economists. He has been an editor of the"American Journal of Agricultural Economics"and has worked on projects with the United Nations, the World Bank, and other agencies, as well as a number of foreign governments.

A Great Edition To Any School Library

This book would make a great edition to any school library. It especially would make an impact in the minds of our young people today, where positive guidance at an early age on what it means to be a leader can impact their lives for the better. Mr. Smith cites several excellent examples of what it takes to be a leader in several categories, including some personal stories of his own to help the reader get started on their own journey. Whether its on your job, community, church...etc. No matter which category you may fall under, Mr Smith makes it easy to see how leadership can be incorporated in other areas of your life. I especially liked how he talked about his own fears of stepping into leadership roles,and how he overcame those fears by facing them directly and pushing forward. I think this book will benefit both old and young alike to strive to be a leader to the best of their ability in their own right.

Go from thinking I can't lead to being successful at leadership!

Ever so often in life we unexpectedly find ourselves in leadership roles. That's just life! When this happens, this book demonstrates how we can turn what feels like a victim situation into one of triumph, no matter what sphere of life we have to lead in. For me, 'So I'm a Leader, Now What?' represents a successful marriage of leadership theory and practice. As an LC Master's student in Leadership (in St. Lucia), it helps me see how some of the principles that I am learning play out in the real life experiences that the author shared. For those who think they can't lead, as well as those who are curious to find out how leadership is working for others... This book is for you!

Smith does an excellent job discussing the key elements of effective leadership and makes a compelling case that becoming a leader is a work in progress, even for veteran leaders. He also reminds us that whatever our job title or position, we are all leaders, and all have the potential to become truly great. Aaron’s ability to focus, enable and push leaders to a higher standard is what makes his insights so informative. This book can help leaders at all levels build and strengthen their leadership skills. I would highly recommend this book if you are already a leader or just starting out on your “leadership” journey.
