Rodney Stark is a renowned scholar and researcher, and is recognized as one of the foremost sociologists working in the field of sociology of religion. Great book; buy used if you can!

Came on looking a little haggard (bought used, OK condition), but nothing terribly messed up with it. For $20 instead of 100-something, and I get to keep it? Score! Excellent intro to the wide, nebulous world of sociology, and a good read for those even slightly interested in how people in groups operate. Wish there was an ebook version.
